6. The largest elephant was shot in1956 in Angola. It weighed 12000 kilograms.

7. Elephants are considered to be the symbol of wisdom in some Asian cultures.

8. The estimated number of elephant population is between 470000 and 690000.

9. Both male and female African Elephants have tusks, while in the Asiatic species only males have tusks.

10. The ears of African elephant are twice as large as the Indian Elephant’s.
